RCA Plasma TV - The Perfect Selection For Home Theater Systems

RCA (Radio Corporation of America) came into existence in early 1900s. It is a multinational owned by a French person named Thomson SA. This company was primitively a radio company that further expanded into a gigantic electronics enterprise. RCA introduced the first electronic turntable in 1940. For years, RCA has manufactured vacuum tubes as well and this company has contributed a lot in the Second World War for the welfare of its people. In the mid 1900s they launched their first color TV.

Apart from this, RCA has had the privilege of being one of the rare computer companies in the late 1900s. Besides this, RCA also owns a massive Audio entertainment house. The RCA Television Company is just one of RCA's many subsidiary businesses. RCA excels in mass producing all sorts of electronics. Some of the items that lie under their electronics department are cables, voice recorders, camcorders, iPods, modern TVs, CD/DVD players, Stereo systems, kitchen utensils and digital clocks. Not to mention that their area of expertise are Internet radio.

Now let's get towards unleashing the RCA wonder. RCA Plasma TVs like all other plasma TVs exhibit true black colors. RCA TVs offer high contrast ratio, enhanced brightness features and decent color saturation. Moreover the flicker free display is another feather in its cap. These displaying features help in processing sharper images that makes the viewing experience even more pleasurable.

The RCA televisions have very wide viewing angles of measuring to be more than 170 degrees. And after knowing that RCA independently assembles Audio Systems, the stereo sound system of the Plasma does not require any sort of explanation- it speaks for itself! That is why Widescreen RCA Plasmas are ideal for being used as Home Theatres.

However because of its high electricity consumption they are not recommended for playing games on it like Play station and X-Box on it. Neither do they make good use in office due to their fragile nature. As I mentioned earlier they have amazing results, however they fail to retain those results on altitudes exceeding 6000 ft. If you are in need of a TV that you could use in your office as the monitor of your PC lying at the 200th floor of a building then Plasma is not for you.

Although RCA Plasma TVs cost a little more than the usual Plasma TVs but their variety of quality features outweighs its price issue.

RCA RTD217 Home Theater System

RCA RTD217 Home Theater SystemThis RCA home theater system is a recommend option to someone who does not want to spend a lot on a set of home theater equipment. This RCA system can be setup easily as the manual instruction is very clear. I finish setting up mine under 1 hr.

Power on system and put in a CD, the first few notes of the sound is pleasing for a system of this price range. The treble is coarse though. Probably the sound quality is better than those budget Korean home theater brands.

Of course, it can't be compared to a Yamaha or Denon, but for this price, there's really nothing much to complain about.

Feature-wise, there is a USB port for external inputs like iPod. There are also a standard FM receive and DVD player.

Unfortunately, RCA RTD217 Theater System has only one set of Audio Visual connection jacks in the back so if you plan to connect any kind of gaming system in to it, you may find yourself out of options if you wish to link up more auxiliary sources.

On the whole, RCA RTD217 Home Theater System is decent for about one hundred bucks.

How to Buy a Home Theater System

Movies can provide an immersive experience, as sight and sound blend together to take you to a place far, far away. For years you could get that complete escape only in a cinema, with its huge screen and monstrous speakers. Now, with a home theater, you can enjoy a full-fledged cinematic experience in your living room. This guide looks at three key components of a home theater system: the display, the DVD player, and the speakers.

The Big Picture
A wide-screen TV, a DVD player, and surround-sound speakers can turn your living room into a film-watching haven.

Wireless Home Theater System

Some people think that setting up a good Home Theater System is a pain or chore, especially you need some decent conduits to hide those long wires from subwoofer and speakers. If this is not set up properly, it could add a gloss of untidiness over your neat living room. Some more once conduits are in place, they are nearly permanently fixed.

Afraid not now. With the advancement in technology, we are beginning to see wireless home system systems getting more popular at reasonable prizes now. Yes, the prize could be double over those wired systems, but the convenience it brings it immense.

Home Theater System - Clear up that black mess behind

Times have changed drastically. TV is no longer just a standalone set in your house. Now, we have high definition LCD TVs with a strings of cables and wires for the multi channel RCA home sound system, HDMI cables for the gaming systems, assorted cables for the DVD/BluRay player, cable for the digital TV, and not to mention a mess of power cables for everything. I hate to take a peek at the back of my home theater system. It is a black mess, and the my heart cries when it's time for a cleaning.
RCA Home Theater SystemIf you are newly renovating your home, please take a serious planning for your television area. Even if you have no intention to install a home theater system, do get ready the PVC pipes strapped up in the wall or a false wall so that next time you can just hide the wire mess behind it to save on the eye sore.

Component Audio Video Cable - Connect Your RCA Home Theater Sound System

Component Audio Video CableIf you've finally made the upgrade to high definition or LCD television, you are likely now wondering how you will connect the various components of your home entertainment or home theater system to this new TV set. The component video audio cable is what you will need to connect various parts of your entertainment system, such as your DVD player, satellite box, cable box, blue-ray player, video game system like Xbox or PlayStation or other device.

The component video audio cable allows you to put an end to the nightmare of connecting video with one cord and audio with another cord, if your devices don't have an HDMI cable input. HDMI cable is the ideal cable for your television. This type of cable (HDMI cable), is used to connect devices and system parts (DVD, CD player, or other devices) that have an input for HDMI to your high definition or LCD television. Check your components to see that they can use this type of cable. Hopefully, they will have this capability (most new electronics do; don't expect your old VCR to have one).

RCA RT2600 Home Theater System

The video here shows the AV receiver for RCA's RT2600 Home Theater System. This is a classic 2002 RCA Home Theater System, and it used to be at the center stage of my parents home boasting the following stupendous power specs:

650-Watt Dolby Digital Receiver with 150-Watt Powered Subwoofer
• 650-Watts Total Power (100 Watts x 5 + 150-Watt Powered Subwoofer)
• Dolby Digital1 Surround Decoding
• Dolby1 ProLogic II
• DTS2 Surround Decoding
• Digital Sound Processing (DSP)
• 3 S-Video Connections
• Compatible with DVD audio and SACD
• Digital AM/FM Stereo Tuner with 40 Presets

I remember very well totally immersed in its powerful sound energy and earth shattering subwoofer effects while we were watching Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Cables and Sound Quality

In the previous post, I extolled about the virtues of the HDMI cable and how HDMI cables can enhance the visual quality of your prized RCA home theater system. Now, I am going to expand on this topic about audio cables.

RCA home theater system cablesA friend of mine who is an audiophile enthusiast told me over the long weekend that we should pay as much as we can for the audio cables in our sound system, be it an audiophile system, or a home theater surround sound system. He said that audio cables are like the veins and arteries in our bodies - essential and vital, and must be as "clean" as possible - free of blood cots or fat residues.

Come on, this is a guy who has no qualms about spending big bucks for a high-end Kimber speaker cables and interconnect. I guess he must be loaded with cold hard cash from his day trading!

Sadly, I beg to differ on his view.

There's really no such thing as a "best" audio cable, or even a "better" audio cable. It all depends on your home theater surround system setup. For example, I am very happy with my humble sound of my RCA home theater system. I think it rocks, as the acoustics match nicely with my room setup. Yes, I have done a little bit of tweaks. Out goes the original manufacturer speaker cables....

Just so long as you're using the right cable for the right setup, you should get clear, quality sound no matter what.

Sorry, i have to say you are dead wrong, my buddy.

About HDMI..

High Definition Multimedia Interface HDMIToday, I am going to share about HDMI cables which is the de facto standard used by most home theater systems and computers for transmitting multimedia audio video signals across the networks nowadays. I am sure you have heard of HDMI when you are shopping for a RCA home theater system or latest computers.

HDMI - High Definition Multimedia Interface.

From the name, you can understand that it is an interface. HDMI first comes about with the gaining popularity of Blue-ray DVD players and flat panel LCD/LED televisions.

In HDMI, you have 19 individual wires wrapped inside and what makes HDMI so special is that it's capable of transmitting a gigantic rate of 10.2 Gbps which should be enough to last through the burgeoning audio-visual requirements for the next 5 years at least. This by itself, is already a sure-sell feature over other AV interfaces like component video or composite video.

Another sure-sell advantage of HDMI is that it is pure digital transmission without the need for signal conversion at sender/receiver end, thus making the picturs and sounds even sharper and clearer.
